It's happening. The Robot Uprising is being secretly funded by the very powers that be. Venture capitalists and industrial giants in China are secretly backing the development of dexterous robotic hands, and we're not just talking about any ordinary robots - we're talking about the kind that can give us humans a run for our money. And the latest player in this game of high-stakes robotics is Xynova, a Hangzhou-based start-up that's just secured a whopping 1 billion yuan (US$148 million) in funding from some of the biggest names in the business, including the venture arms of smartphone maker Xiaomi and electric vehicle giant Li Auto.
